It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Selvi Monikaraj, the leader of Grace Home in Nagercoil, has died unexpectedly of a heart attack. Thanks be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who assures us of eternal life in heaven. May her memory be eternal.
Selvi led the Grace Home for the past 12 years, following the death of the home’s namesake, Grace Subbiah. Grace Home is known for maintaining excellent standards of care and received a “Best Home” award last year. Larry Zimmerman, outgoing President of Bethania Kids writes, “Selvi loved all the girls as though they were her own. She knew what was on their minds, what troubles them, how they are doing in school, and if they are at peace.”
Please lift up prayers for the Grace Home community who are grieving Selvi’s loss. Pray for the continuity of care and leadership in this vital ministry to God’s children in India.
Devastating floods in the state of Kerala in South India have resulted in severe damage to infrastructure, loss of life, displacement of people from their homes and jobs and negative impact on their well- being. We thank you for keeping those affected in your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks be to God that all of our Bethania Kids are safe and our project sites were not affected. Bethania Kids will be a part of the healing process. We have established the Kerala Flood Relief Fund (KFRF) so donors may contribute to the relief effort.
Working with our staff and partners in India, we will assess the needs, focusing on children and families in greatest need. Once we have an idea of the best steps forward, we will engage appropriately. Our response will be a sustainable activity.
100% of your donation to the KFRF will go directly to helping the children and families in Kerala. Please look into your heart and consider how you can help. This button will take you directly to the “Donate” page where you can designate your gift to KFRF.
