As further expansion of our women’s empowerment program, Bethania Kids explored additional career options for women for which training could be provided. In 2024, the first two new beauty care centers for women were opened. The centers, each equipped with hair care stations and cosmetic products, soon welcomed their first sets of trainees. Like the other women’s empowerment programs, these beautician training programs also offer fellowship, encouragement, literacy training and the opportunity to experience the love of Christ. These centers represent yet another way your donations empower women to help support themselves and their families.
Meet Mrs. Selvi
Mrs. Selvi was able to complete 12th grade, but her parents, who were both day laborers, were not able to provide further educational assistance. Her parents arranged her marriage at a young age because of financial difficulties. Her husband is a day laborer, and together they have two children. She was eager to learn a skill with better employment opportunities and was excited when she learned of the new Bethania Kids beautician training program.
She joined the six-month training course and is learning all the necessary skills to work in a beauty care center. When she finishes the course, she hopes to work as an assistant beautician, and eventually she would like to own her own salon. She says thank you to Bethania Kids for providing this education at no cost, giving better employment opportunities to impoverished women like herself.
