The new Shalom Home for Girls in Batlagundu became a reality on Thursday, January 20, 2022, during wonderful dedication festivities. The celebration included speeches, feasting, dancing, girls playing their instruments, the ribbon cutting and much more. Chairman of the Board in North America, Larry Zimmerman, and Board President, Kate Teece, both spoke through electronic media. Other North America Board members and staff were also on-line to give their best wishes. Attendees included the CEO in India, Dr. James Gnanakan, the members of the Board of Trustees in India, local officials, Bethania Kids staff members from many of our ministry sites, the boys from Dayavu Home and the Shalom Home girls themselves. It was a grand day of food, fun, laughter and reverence. A debt of gratitude is owed to you, our donors, who spent several years making this happen. The cramped quarters these girls have lived in for many years are left behind and their home is now a spacious, modern facility which meets Indian government requirements. The girls will be moving into the space at the beginning of March from the convent where they have been living to start this school year. Thank you so much for your generous donations and your support of our ministries for the poor and destitute in South India.
